Facing the southern Atlantic Ocean from a home port of Cape Town, South Africa, Gemini Inflatables were first created in 1979. Today the GEMINI range is regarded as one of, if not the, most innovative range of military inflatables and RIBs available.

Each GEMINI RIB is built to achieve perfect hydrodynamic efficiency. GEMINI hulls feature a true monocoque so the hydrodynamic efficiency of the monohedron shaped hull softens each ride and delivers teams anywhere in complete comfort and safety in even the most difficult conditions.

Approvals and Accreditations

Gemini Inflatables will reach ISO 9001 certification in 2003. Current certification includes : Bureau Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, American Bureau of Shipping, SA Maritime Safety Authority, Lloyds Register, Det Norslie Veritas and Armaments Corporation of SA.

All of the tubes are made out of Hypalon® 1670 DTEX (military specification fabric). All Gemini Inflatables can have the HP cylinder inflation capability & optional shallow water hi-jackers to give increased performance with heavy payloads.

RECREATIONAL VERSION: Standard Features

The hull features an Aluminum keel strip. The strip is attached to a box section of the keel of the boat. This box section is an intricate part of the mould. We fill the box section internally with chop strand matting that is manipulated into a rope type length, we then use extra woven roving to form over the top of this to make a solid keel internally. The alloy keel protector is screwed onto the outside of this solid box section. This allows the boat to run up on beaches or rocks without damaging the keel or if you miss the trailer when you are recovering the boat. This procedure gives the Gemini craft a very strong backbone and the boat can be lifted from the bow eye and the boat will not split. This feature sets Gemini apart from any other inflatable manufacture that we currently know about on the market. Other companies have copied but this is only external and their internal work does not produce the same results that we are used to.

The 730 have a series of spray strakes in the hull, which gives the boat fine performance and a soft ride.
