Suzuki engineers have designed an industry first V-Twin 25hp 4-stroke outboard which is incredibly light weight.

Weighing just 72kg, the new 25hp long shaft model is the first 4-Stroke outboard of this horsepower to feature a V-Twin powerhead. The compact design creates a powerful economical package that will suit many boat applications.

When Suzuki set out to develop the V-Twin DF25, there were many critical factors to be considered. The engine would need to offer greater fuel economy, reliability and performance than any comparable 2-Stroke outboard, whilst being lightweight and compact.

The new V-Twin offers all of this, plus more. Using a cylinder bank configuration of 70 degrees enables the engine to operate smoothly, reducing vibration and eliminates the need for a counterbalance shaft.

This layout also places the engine’s center of gravity forward, compared to a conventional in line engine, and is narrow enough to provide a compact profile on the transom.

In addition, this new 4-Stroke complies with 2006 EPA and forthcoming EURO 1 standards (EU Directive 2003/44/EC), and carries the California Air Resources Board (CARB) 3-star Ultra-Low emissions rating

The new DF25 will be available late January 2006. Suzuki outboards are distributed in Australia and New Zealand by The Haines Group.
